This month we visited one of the UK’s best furniture and interiors shows to take a look at some of the newest and biggest upcoming trends for 2020.
The Furniture Show, which takes place at the NEC in Birmingham, brings together a comprehensive mix of classic and contemporary furniture, flooring, lighting and accessories from both UK and international brands – making it the perfect place for us to find inspiration for our future show homes.
This year the top trends are all about making our lives easier, something that we strive for here at Risby – and not just with our furniture but with the way we design our houses from the very start.
New ways of using and re-using materials is also big news for 2020, with many manufacturers embracing recycled components in their creations. This is something we incorporated in our Shepherd’s Rest show home, with key pieces created from reused natural materials.
Velvet soft furnishings are also here to stay for the new year, from bright and bold colours to muted pastels. The trend is teamed with opulent accessories and Scandi styling, which are becoming a popular choice for clean living.
